Better Alternatives for Youth

BAY-Peace is an organization that focuses on fighting back against aggressive military recruiting in our schools. We provide workshops and trainings to give young people real information about the military that recruiters wouldn't want you to know. We are reaching out to youth all over the Bay Area to organize for better alternatives.

National Network Opposing Militarization of Youth

These are trying yet exciting times for the counter military recruitment movement. Now, more than ever, those of us who are proactive in opposing war must help shape the tone of anti-war and peace conversations to be more inclusive of the counter-recruitment analysis. The National Network Opposing the Militarization of Youth (NNOMY) will be integral in bringing our groups together so we can help the nation understand that providing youth with peaceful and viable alternatives to achieve success in life is an important sign of a civilized society.

The GI Rights Hotline

The GI Rights Hotline provides free, confidential, and accurate information on US military regulations and practices to servicemembers, veterans, potential recruits, and their families. We are a consortium of more than twenty non-governmental, non-profit organizations located in more than fifteen states and in Germany. Some of our counselors are veterans, some are lawyers and some have decades of military counseling experience.

Iraq Veterans Against the War

Iraq Veterans Against the War (IVAW) was founded by Iraq war veterans in July 2004 at the annual convention of Veterans for Peace (VFP) in Boston to give a voice to the large number of active duty service people and veterans who are against this war, but are under various pressures to remain silent.

Plan of Action for Challenging Times

PACT, Inc. is a private, non-profit California Corporation, which provides services to the San Francisco Bay Area since 1963. The visionary founders, Mr. Everett Brandon and Dr. Henry Lucas, saw the wisdom of creating a structure for many different programs in response to the needs of the African American community and other underrepresented groups in education, business and employment. In 1965, PACT, Inc. began to operate its first Educational Talent Search Project which was funded by the U.S. Department of Education. The program has expanded and continues presently.

Rogue Valley Peace Veterans

Rogue Valley Peace Veterans (RVPV) is a privately supported unincorporated association serving S. Oregon. We are military retirees and veterans dedicated to informing the public, and especially our young people, about the true cost of military enlistment (particularly to the enlistee) and the costs of war. Our primary mission is to provide information to those contemplating enlisting in the military, and through our 'Straight Talk' Program to reach out to individuals, school classes and local PTA groups (wherever they exist, OR to try developing parent-information sessions) in Southern Oregon's Rogue Valley.
